Hey! I'm Jorden.

Here's a picture of me awkwardly standing in front of a wall in downtown Dallas. (And getting a bunch of weird stares because, apparently, wearing a leopard print coat in 90-degree weather is frowned upon.)

“You`re fired. Pack up your office and leave.”

That’s right. I started my business because I got fired from my full-time job. This happened the SAME day my husband’s contract at the same workplace ended. (Yes, our boss was an asshole.)

We walked out of that office together shocked, wondering what the actual fuck we were going to do to pay our bills.

And the rotten cherry on top of this shit sundae we’d just been served?

My dermatologist found an early stage skin cancer on my leg about a week prior to me getting fired.

Regular bills. Medical bills. Stress and anxiety and uncertainty.

(And, if I’m being honest here, LOTS of nights watching the Kardashians and other trashy TV shows just to get my mind off of the situation. Don’t judge me.)

My initial reaction was to start applying to as many jobs as I could. But I started thinking, and I realized:

“I’m probably going to hate working anywhere else just as much and get fired (because #Unemployable). And I definitely don’t want to give another asshole boss control of my career and financial situation.”

So I took a massive risk and decided I’d build a full-time freelance writing business. Even though I was a broke 3-time college dropout with no experience running a business full-time.

And after a lot of hard work, I made $5,000 from my business in a single month – only about 4 months after getting fired (you can read about that right here!).

But I didn’t want to keep what I learned to myself.

I wanted to share my marketing knowledge with others so that they could escape shitty full-time jobs too.

And that’s how this blog was born. 🙂

Fast-forward to today, and I’ve been able to:
